I have a degree in computer engineering and have been doing computer support (both hardware and software) for over 30 years. I currently train the tier 1 computer support staff at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
WHY WOULD I HAVE A CUSTOM COMPUTER BUILT INSTEAD OF BUYING A NAME BRAND?
We have an entire blog post here that goes into this in detail. The quick answer is I believe I can provide the same level of computer at an equal or slightly lower price with better quality, industry standard parts (so you are not locked into the name brand company for repairs).
WHY IS CLEANING A COMPUTER SUCH A BIG DEAL?
Dust and dirt will act as an insulator in your computer trapping heat and making the system fans less effective. Heat is the enemy of the computer, at best reducing the speed at which the components work, at worst causing premature component failure.
